Thank you for your interest in the Warroad Public Schools.

The District is undergoing a renovation and renewal process. A new Early Learners Addition is under construction. The elementary school has been renovated during the summer of 2017. A renovation of the high school is planned for the summer of 2018. The Angle Inlet School (Minnesota's only one room school house!) also underwent renovation during the summer of 2017.

The School Board is composed of two members, Brian Hontvet and Tim Fast (in his fourth year on the Board), in the third year of their first four year terms, three members, Jeff Heppner, Christine Laznicka, and Laurie Thompson, who began their four year terms in January 2017, and the newest member, Brad Woodward, appointed in August 2017 and on the ballot for a Special Election in November 2017. The Board met at a Retreat on July 13, 2017 and agreed to begin writing the New Story of the Warroad School District through the development of a Strategic Plan. The goal is to have this new plan developed before the end of the school year.

I began my journey as Interim Superintendent in Warroad on July 1, 2017. Three members of the Administrative team also began their tenure on July 1. They are Dennis Abernathy, High School Principal, Brita Comstock, Elementary Principal, and Kristina Edman, Special Education and Support Services Director.

It is exciting to be serving the District at a time of change and growth. There are many aspects of the District that I and the administrative team will be learning about, reviewing, and monitoring as we look to the future of the District.
