Cause for applause! Earlier this fall, we got news that our spring 2025 third grade reading scores ranked 10th best in the entire state of Minnesota. Then, last week, Warroad Elementary was identified as a Bright Spot School in an article that highlighted schools across the nation that are beating the odds when it comes to teaching kids to read. Elementary Title teacher Julie Wilmer said it best when sharing the news with our teachers, "This accomplishment highlights the incredible work each of you does every day to help our students grow as readers. Your commitment, skill, and belief in every child’s potential continue to make a lasting difference." A special shout-out goes to our K–3 grade teams and sped teachers, whose dedication to early literacy instruction and strong foundational teaching made this recognition possible.

Congratulations to Kathrine Brekke and Conner Lien on being selected to represent Warroad for the ExCEL Award! This award recognizes high school juniors who demonstrate excellence in leadership, actively participate in school activities, and show a strong dedication to serving their communities!

Congratulations to Linnea Harren and Kendan Curtis, who have been selected to represent Warroad for the MSHSL Triple 'A' Award. This honor recognizes high school students statewide who excel in academics, arts and athletics. To be eligible, students must maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA, while actively participating in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.

Age 12+ event, Adults are welcome to join; however, there is a fee for adults.
If parents are accompanying their child for supervision only due to age requirements, no fee is required.

The Outdoor Science class completed three days of lessons at the Warroad School forest this fall with Hannah Hinrichs and Shawn Olsen from the DNR. Students completed lessons on orienteering with a compass and a tree regeneration population study.

The True North Swim Team is hosting the Section Swim Meet this Friday and Saturday!

Reminder elementary students are invited to share photos of family members who either currently serve in the United States military or have family members who are Veterans. These photos will be displayed in the elementary library throughout the month of November. The deadline to submit pictures has been extended to this Friday. Reminder to all Warroad School District residents, polls open at 12pm tomorrow at the Warroad Community Center. WPS is seeking your support with a single question ballot for an annual allocation of $250,000 for the purchase of Technology.
