Good Morning! I want to update you on our Safe Athletic Plan for sporting events in Warroad. We were hoping the governor and Minnesota Department of Health would allow more spectators at games by now with our statewide numbers decreasing, but that isn't the case. However, at this time with our numbers in Roseau County very low, we WILL ALLOW STUDENTS AND 18 and under into basketball and hockey games. Many people are receiving the vaccination and testing for COVID has increased. With these measures in place, we decided to allow this group of people. Furthermore, we still need to follow the protocols in place. This includes signing up for games, wearing a mask, and social distancing. This is required by the MSHSL and MN Department of Health. We need to keep all indoor events at the capacity of 150.
Last week was a great week to be a Warrior. Our boys hockey, girls hockey, and boys basketball teams won all their games and the girls basketball team took Thief River Falls to the wire, but lost 40-35. If we can follow the protocols set, we can keep our kids playing!

Good morning!! This week we will have our first winter games of the year!! Girls basketball is at home vs Kittson County Central, Boys Basketball is on the road vs Grygla and Boys Hockey is at home vs Thief River Falls (note the game time is 630/8pm).
Attached is our Safe Athletic Plan for Spectators. As you probably know, we can allow 150 spectators at home games in either our high school gym and hockey arenas. According to Minnesota Department of Health, we need to be able to contact trace and have all COIVD protocols in place. Essentially, we are going to allow 3 spectators per athlete and EVERYONE needs to sign up in the high school office prior to the game. You will have to sign up each week on Monday and pay in the office as well ($6-adults, $4 seniors). We are not allowing students at this time. Hopefully when our COVID numbers go down, we can allow more fans and students.

Good morning and Happy New Year!! I am proud to announce that Winter Sports have started and we have a full schedule for hockey and basketball! Here are a couple of reminders for you.
1. It is not too late to sign up your son or daughter for a Winter Sport. Go to www.warroadpayments.com to sign up. If you do not have an account, please email Michelle Wyckoff (michelle_wyckoff@warroad.k12.mn.us).
2. All Winter practice and game schedules are on rSchool. This can be found on the high school website under Activities/Athletics. Also, you can download the app on your phone to receive notifications.
3. There has been some confusion on transportation. At the parent meeting before Christmas break, I said we are encouraging parents to drive their son or daughter to games. This is to reduce the risk of getting COVID and being quarantined. HOWEVER, we will be providing a bus to basketball and hockey games for those families that cannot transport. We will have this for all levels.
4. Lastly, there has been an updated guidance on Masks. Please read what the MSHSL has said regarding masks for Winter Sports.
